Creative Offline Marketing – Part II

By Nicholas Tan Gift Certificates Its generally known that people will usually spend more than the gift certificate amount. So if you operate a jewelry store, and you mail your customers a free no-obligation $25 gift certificate, its usually a very sound investment. Most restaurant owners already know that people generally dont dine alone, so by giving your customers a free gift certificate, theyre bound to bring in others who will spend more money on food and drinks. A good variation on this formula is the free birthday dinner. Generally, nobody is going to come in on their birthday and eat their free dinner by themselves. Theyre going to bring friends, relatives, you get the idea. Heres a great way to use gift certificates to get referrals: Send a letter to your customers with three gift certificates. One they can use for themselves, and the other two they can give away to friends or relatives. They keep your customers happy (and happy customers are more likely to speak highly of you to others) and they compound that fact by letting your customers give the certificates to others, to whom they will sing your praises. Its like a tell-a-friend script on steroids! Bonus: Check out what JP Maroney did for a jewelry store client of his by using gift certificates at: http://www.copywritersboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=663 Coupons Like gift certificates, coupons are also a great way to touch your customers and bring them back into your store (or website or whatever). Contests The sandwich chain Subway recently had a scratch-off contest, but you had to go online to see if you were a winner. Contests are a great way to get leads and generate sales. Heres a tip: always include an unadvertised second place that everyone who didnt win will get. Joe Vitale did that last year, and used an email and voice broadcast to announce your second place prize. I would have included a sequence of direct mail as well, but the premise is the same. Also, the Nathans hot dog eating contest is a great example of using their product in the contest itself. If your product or service lends itself well to this approach, consider testing it. to be continued…. http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nicholas_Tan Free tips and information on SCUBA diving in Malaysia. http://www.divingpleasures.com/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nicholas_Tan http://EzineArticles.com/?Creative-Offline-Marketing—Part-II&id=449593 car dealerships in atlanta georgia with no credit check the amount of taxes with held in your paycheck living in pa nevada direct cash advance lenders no fax no teletrak no verify payday advance no telechek

Ideas for Creating Your Wedding Scrapbook

By Susie Cortright A wedding is one of life’s most momentous events, and that means making your wedding scrapbook can be an intimidating prospect. Here are some tips to help you get going: — Figure out the details ahead of time. Making some decisions as to the theme and color scheme of the album will save you time and money. First, you’ll need to decide whether this album will cover your entire wedding celebration – from engagement through honeymoon – or will you focus on just the wedding day itself? If you decide on the latter, you might want to choose a 6×6 or 8×8 album project for the bridal shower, bachelorette party, honeymoon, etc. Next, you’ll want to choose a color scheme. The most popular choice is to work with your wedding colors. Consider setting off these wedding colors (or other colors you choose) by pairing them with a classic black or white cardstock background. I love the look of black-on-white in wedding albums. I also love mulberry flowers, ribbons, vellum and fabric. Deep reds and pinks accents are gorgeous, too, for simple embellishments. Remember that elegance and simplicity tend to go hand in hand. The wedding scrapbooks that stand the test of time are timeless and classic. You’ll also want to look at some simple wedding scrapbook layout samples or sketches of completed albums so you can see what kind of supplies you’ll need. At the very least, you’ll want to know how many pages the finished album will be before you go to the scrapbook store. The more detailed your plan, the less money you’re likely to spend. — Go through your photos and memorabilia For me, scrapbooking is about telling the stories of our lives, so I love to work with the photographs that really tell a story. You’ll want to choose only the best and most interesting photographs for your wedding scrapbook album. (The posed portrait-type photos can be framed and sent to family members.) Store the remainder of the photos in a companion photo album. Remember, simple is elegant. It’s also a good idea to work with duplicates of your priceless wedding photos. You may find that you want to work with these photos again in the future, and you’re certain to feel more of a creative license if you know that the originals and intact and safe. Memorabilia. I tend to go easy on memorabilia…maybe keeping the majority of it in a memento box along with my companion photo album and scrapbook, because I don’t like to detract from the story of the album. Memorabilia you might want to include (either directly on the page or in a special pocket): – Wedding and shower invitations – Fabric from your dress or bridesmaid dress – Receipts – Honeymoon plane tickets – Place cards – Bridal registry – Shower gift lists – Napkins Make a simple checklist of the kinds of things you’d like to include, but trust your inner artist to take the reins and let the story unfold. — Don’t forget the journaling The most powerful journaling comes not from the 5 w’s (who, what, where, when, and why) – but from the 5 senses. Specific details are more memorable and intriguing than generalities and the best way to vividly remember your wedding day is to focus on each of your senses. What do you remember seeing, hearing, thinking, feeling, tasting? How did you feel as you were standing at the altar? How did your wedding cake taste? What was the weather like? What stands out as the visual symbol of your day? Ask the wedding party to contribute their thoughts via journaling, too. Ask for specific memories…”the most memorable part of my day was…” Coach guests and members of your bridal party to use their five senses, too. Another trick that creates more powerful journaling is to start with a blank page and write “I remember” at the top. Now, simply reflect on the day of your wedding and let your hand move across the page. If you get stuck, write “I remember” again and keep writing. Your goal is simply to keep the pen moving across the page, without crossing anything out or stopping to think too much. Aim to complete two to three pages, and you’ll be amazed by the flood of memories this technique release – even if your wedding wasn’t in the recent past. These methods can create very emotion-filled journaling, so consider keeping private journaling tucked away in journaling pockets. — Assembling the Scrapbook Start the album with a dedication page. Tell why you created the album and a few details on why your wedding was such an important day in your life. It’s a good idea, in wedding scrapbooks particularly, to avoid overly trendy design techniques. I’ve talked to more than one scrapbooker who now regrets cutting her priceless wedding photos into silhouettes or cutesy shapes. A wedding scrapbook is timeless, so – again – simple is most likely better. A simple design also tends to better draw attention to the photos and journaling – your personal love story. Your wedding scrapbook will be one of the most albums in your home. Enjoy the process of creating it! Fen-Phen Settlement Lawyer: Lawsuit Facts

By Anna Henningsgaard Fen Phen was used as a diet drug for many years. It is a combination of two drugs, fenfluamine and phentermine. The FDA requested its removal from the market late in 1997 when reports arose of fen-phens role in causing heart valve disease and pulmonary hypertension. Echocardiograms of women taking fen-phen revealed a 30% rate of heart valve abnormality, even though patients had no symptoms. In July of 1997, researchers at the Mayo Clinic reported dozens of cases of a rare valvular disease among women who took fen-phen. It was at this point that doctors were alerted to start warning patients of the dangers of fen-phen. Fen-phen works by increasing seratonin levels in the brain. Seratonin is responsible for moods including a feeling of satiety, or being full. The fen, fenfluramine, alone causes severe mood swings and depression, which made it unpopular. By adding the stimulant phentermine to counterbalance the depressing effects, people did not feel depressed by the drug-imposed chemical imbalance, they only felt less hungry. Unfortunately, the excess seratonin was also found to be responsible for the serious heart valve problems. Directly after the link between fen-phen and heart disease was revealed, 66 reports came in of heart valve disease associated with the drug. Also, patents who were only taking one of the two, fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine, experienced the same symptoms. Fen-Phen went off the market in 2004, and is now no longer widely available. As recently as April of 2005, American Lawyer magazine reviled that more than 50,000 product liability lawsuits have been filed by fen-phen victims. Total liability paid out to these victims could reach as high as $14 billion. Millions of dollars in damages have already been rewarded, as Wyeth, the pharmaceutical company that marketed fen-phen, is found responsible for the damage they have caused. Two plaintiffs in Philadelphia were each rewarded $100 million for the damage they suffered from fen-phen. If you or a loved one has been hurt by this disease, contact a lawyer immediately and you can get the drug company to pay. To find out why you need a Fen-Phen lawyer and read articles about dangerous drugs and Fen-Phen side effects, visit our website at hugesettlements.com. Natural Cosmetics: Glow of Youth at the Tip of a Brush

By Sherry Frewerd Fine lines got you down? Stop that scalpel! You dont need a face-lift, a fine natural makeup brush and natural cosmetics will fix your wrinkles, cover your blemishes, and enhance your natural beauty. Heavy oily makeup makes skin hang and sag as you forcefully blend it, pulling and pushing on tender delicate skin. You have a better option. Set your skin free! Natural cosmetics offer mineral foundation powders applied with the delicate wisp of a brush. Color touches the skin like a glow of light, allowing the sheer luxury of translucent powder to accent your natural complexion, clearing tiny lines and eliminating blemishes. You can ignite the glow within; using refined mineral foundation powder created from finely milled organic pigments found in necessary mineral nutrients. Toxic chemicals peel tender layers of delicate skin tissue as you rub and massage them into your skin to even out skin tones and blend colors. Natural cosmetic powders glide on with the feather light touch of a brush imparting protection from sun-damage with high SPF ratings and natural protection from the suns damaging UVA and UVB rays. Natural mineral makeup offers excellent coverage without heavy oils that cause blemishes and skin irritation. Mineral foundation powder stays in place without streaking and running, like heavy liquid make-ups. Most makeup companies produce their own lines of mineral powder cosmetics including foundation, eye shadow, blush, concealers, and eyeliners. Because of the small amount required for each use, youll want to find the best natural mineral makeup available. One container of powder lasts approximately a year with every day use. Natural cosmetics do not need to be replaced until they are used up, unlike regular oil based liquid makeups. To apply natural cosmetics using a fluffy brush, you collect a bit of the translucent powder on the end of the brush, tap lightly and gently glide the brush across your cheeks, eyelids, forehead and chin. Gracefully blend the powder across all areas of your face with the large brush. Fine lines will disappear and blemishes fade to supple silky smooth skin. As springtime, the glow of good health and youth spring forth with the use of natural cosmetics. Serene beauty and youth appear quickly because the translucent powder imparts a subtle glow as it gently fills the tiny lines and corrects imperfections. Your skin becomes smooth and silky when you use natural cosmetics, allowing the normal elasticity of your skin to conform to your facial structure. With the flowing precision the softly bristled brush enhances contours of your skin refreshing your youthful exuberance and natural beauty. Natural cosmetics simplify the process of putting on make up every morning by taking the oils and liquid out of your routine. If you havent tried the newest cosmetic creation, I strongly recommend you do so at your earliest convenience. You will be pleasantly rewarded with a youthful and healthy appearance and a revitalized morning routine. Your budget might even say thanks for the extra relief! Legal Age 101: When Is It Going To Be Legal?

By James Monahan Legal age is an age at which a person becomes entitled under the law to engage in a particular activity or becomes responsible for a particular act. Those acts and activities include getting married, getting a license, voting and basically anything that will make you accountable for your actions. Government sets a legal minimum age for all these. So before you head out to town for the supposedly biggest party of the season (which will probably include one or all of the following events: bringing your folks’ car and getting drunk like crazy and ending up in Vegas with some random person you’re about to marry) check out the legal ages for all your needs so you don’t end up in juvenile court or jail for that matter. Here’s a list of the most fundamental legal ages. Legal Age of Candidacy It is the legal minimum age at which a person can legally qualify to hold certain elected government offices. In many cases, it also determines the age at which a person may be granted ballot access for an election. Legal Age of Cconsent According to the law, when a person reaches the age of consent, persons are bound by their words and acts. There are different ages at which one acquires legal capacity to consent to marriage, to choose a guardian, to conclude a contract, and the like. For marriage, the age may be higher for males than for females if the jurisdiction does not guarantee equal rights to men and women. Age of consent also means the age below which consent of the female to sexual intercourse is not a defense to a charge of rape. Under common law this age was 10; state statutes in the United States generally set it between 13 and 18. Basically, legal age of consent is when you become solely responsible for your own actions. It’s about taking accountability. Legal Age of Majority In law, the age of majority is the age at which one acquires the full legal rights of an adult. This commonly includes things such as the right to vote and the ability to make contracts. Legal Drinking Age Many nations have a legal drinking age, or the minimum age one must be to drink alcohol. In most countries this is 16 or 18; in the US it is 21. Some countries distinguish between drinks with fairly low alcohol-content (such as beer and wine) and stronger spirit-based drinks. Legal Marriageable Age It is the age wherein an individual may decide on his or her own to marry or not. It’s different for most countries and the youngest so far is 16 with parental consent. Legal Minimum Driving Age Minimum driving age refers to the legal age after which a person can obtain a license to operate a motor vehicle. The minimum driving age varies between jurisdictions but is generally between the ages of 14 and 18. Legal Voting Age The voting age is the minimum legal age at which a person may vote in a governmental election. That means carrying out the right to suffrage. Legal ages were put into law for a reason. Age comes with education and experience and who would want a reckless, drunk 13-year-old driving down our streets, right? Career Search from Within

By Teresa Proudlove Seeking meaningful and fulfilling work can become a discouraging, confusing and overwhelming journey. Beware spending too much time looking for your answers outside of yourself. Ultimately, coming to know our right livelihood is the inner work of our whole being. In order to nurture our well-being and come to our right livelihood; it is best to frequently pause and halt the busy “doing and thinking” process. Pause, relax and trust. This runs contrary to the belief espoused within the employment industry of “looking for a job is a full-time job.” Woe upon those who follow this motto. Follow the Voice of Your Heart If we push ourselves non-stop into our career/job search (or within our jobs/lives) how can we hear the voice of our heart? The small still voice within is buried under a constantly busy mind and hectic life – so applauded by our society. I am not advocating that we wait for manna from heaven to supply our answers. We need to do our research and seek the help we may need in order to make wise choices. However, I have found great value in pausing and waiting rather than trying to force a decision or an action. Try it. Through pausing and exercising patience much is often revealed to us. Also, by pausing, relaxing and trusting we are aligning ourselves moment by moment with our heart and our God. How do we distinguish between the voice of our God and that of the busy-mind pushing us along – often driven by the underlying insecurity of being human? As Robert Johnson, Jungian analyst and author of “Balancing Heaven and Earth,” says; “How do we know if we are truly following the will of God? One knows instinctively; there is a sense of peace, balance, and fullness, an unhurriedness.” From my own experience I would add there is a clean, direct simplicity to my small, still voice. Also, if the voice directing me from within is harsh, hurtful or driven by fear I know with certainty this is NOT the voice of my God. Finding work that is meaningful and fulfilling is not something we ‘figure-out,’ abdicate to external forces, nor something we push ourselves to do. Rather, it is more a process in time wherein we come to know and trust our deepest desires, intuition and clarity of mind. Coming to know our right livelihood involves our whole being. Seeking the Slender Threads Seeking the slender threads weaving our lives can also lead us toward meaningful work. What are the slender threads? “Being in a particular place at just the right time, meeting someone who steers you in an unforeseen direction, the unexpected appearance of work or money or inspiration just when they are most needed. Whether called fate, destiny or the hand of God, slender threads are at workweaving the remarkable tapestry of our lives.” Robert A. Johnson, Balancing Heaven and Earth. Viewing my own life I see how those slender threads – chance meetings – patterned decades of my life. I see how some of my best career choices came about through some great benevolent force guiding me, connecting me to necessary people and experiences more so than my well-made plans or goals. All I did was get the information I could, put myself out there and then, follow the little steps revealed to me. If you are in job search or looking for career direction put yourself “out there” and be open to slender threads. Participate in free local employment programs – looking and listening for unexpected connections or clues. Pay attention to meaningful words that suddenly catch your attention or replay in your mind whether from a passing stranger, friend, dream, song, TV show, book title, or. Tell everyone you meet you are in career change, soul searching, job searchfind your own words. In a sentence or two let them know what you enjoy doing, what your skills are, what interests you or where you would like to work. Ask if they can think of a job title that might suit someone like you, or where you might apply for work, or who else could they suggest for you talk to. People love to help if we will but open ourselves to their generosity. Take little steps. Pause, relax and trust your small inner voice. Look for the slender threads weaving the majestic tapestry of our lives. Herein, follow the guidance toward your right livelihood. Teresa Proudlove is the publisher/editor of http://www.yourlifework.com encouraging people to listen to their inner guidance, be gentle with themselves and practice present moment awareness. Spring is Almost Here – March Gardening Tips

By Paul Guzman The beginning of spring is among us. Beautiful days, cool nights, and wind especially in the southwest (it can’t always be perfect). You should be able to plant just about anything including bulbs, trees, shrubs, bedding plants. Be careful with tomato plants, however, the weather can be a bit tricky during this month. If you do plant frost tender plants during the March gardening season, be prepared to cover them in event of a late frost. In the Southwest New Mexico area or lower elevations of the southwest we usually get a cold snap followed by some pretty warm days during the month of March. Try using “Wall-o-waters” for your tomato plants to help protect them from temps down to 15 degrees f. Some flowering shrubs, trees, and vines you may want to consider are wisteria, Idaho locust, rhaphiolepsis, carolina jessamine, cross-vine, roses, flowering cherry, crape myrtle, texas sage, trumpet vine to name a few. Fruit trees should be abundant at this time of year, and can be planted as late as May without undo stress. Varieties that we carry are cherry, apple, plum, apricot, pear, peach, nectarine, pecan, almond, fig, loquat, grapes, raspberries, blackberries and more. Bedding plant selection should be increasing and usually include pansies, petunia, viola, stock, snapdragon, dianthus, herbs, alyssum, marigold, poppies, to name a few. Now is the time to feed your cool season lawn with 16-8-8, containing iron, zinc, and sulphur, if it has been more than 4-6 weeks since you last fed your lawn. Feed your bermuda or other warm season grass at the end of March with the same product mentioned above. If you had problems with weeds last year you may want to consider using a pre-emergent herbicide in early March. This comes in liquid or grannule form and will prevent weed seed from germinating if applied correctly. This pre- emergent can be used in rock, or graveled areas as well, without injury to existing landscape trees, shrubs and plants. You can read November gardeing tips at: http://guzmansgreenhouse.com/seasons/march-gardening-tips.htm Paul Guzman is the author of the above article. Car Loans After Bankruptcy – How Poor Credit or a Recent Bankruptcy Can Affect Your Loan Approval

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder If you have poor credit or a recent bankruptcy, you can still get approved for an auto loan through sub prime lenders. Sub prime lenders specialize in financing auto loans to people with adverse credit. And a car loan can help you rebuild your credit history, enabling you to qualify for lower rates on all your loans within two years. Poor Credit Factor Traditional financing companies are willing to work with people with less than stellar credit scores. An estimated 80% of individuals have at least one late payment on their credit report. So it is better to request quotes from traditional lenders before crossing them off your list. You may be surprised to find that you do qualify for low rates. With a recent bankruptcy or foreclosure, you may need to use the services of a sub prime lender. With these types of financers, you can expect to pay a couple of percentage points higher than your average car loan. Savvy Car Loan Shopper You can still be a savvy car loan shopper with bad credit by shopping around for the lowest rates. Online auto loan lenders are finding that to compete, they have to offer lower rates than neighborhood banks. They are also able to reduce fees by using technology to eliminate overhead costs. To compare real costs, request quotes from several auto loan lenders. A difference of $8.50 a month can save you $500 on a five year loan. There are many variables to compare such as rates, term, and fees. While low rates are ideal, you may find a low monthly payment is in your best financial interests. Quick Application Once you have done your research, you can quickly apply for your car loan online. By using the online application, most lenders will reduce or eliminate loan fees. Within an hour you can expect a reply. When you are approved, you will be sent a blank check to sign over to the vehicle seller. The nice thing about an online auto loan lender is that only they know you have poor credit. When you bring in a blank check to a dealership, they just see you as a cash buyer and are ready to deal. Searching for Permanent Laser Hair Removal

By Mark Woodcock Shaving daily or several times per week can be a tedious and even painful task, and is not a permanent way to get rid of unwanted body hair. Waxing can be more painful, expensive, and though the hair grows back more slowly, is not a long-term solution for hair removal. That is why many people looking for a permanent or long-term way to remove unwanted body hair are looking to laser hair removal. Those who perform this procedure promise to quickly remove your hair at the root, and guarantee that your hair will grow back very slowly, and in some cases, result in permanent hair removal. However, if you are looking to laser hair removal as a permanent solution to your unwanted body hair, it is important that you know all aspects of the procedure, along with knowing how what to look for in a reputable practitioner to carry out the procedure for you. Laser hair removal works by aiming a series of light beams at the dark pigments in your body hair. Using a handheld machine, the technician or physician presses it onto the areas of the skin where you want hair removed. The device is intended to cause damage to you hair follicles without harming any surrounding tissue. There can be pain involved, despite some claims to the contrary. But respectable laser hair removal practitioners will employ several pain relief methods including cooling with gels, fine mists of water, and cool air. Of course, there are quite a few plusses to having a laser hair removal procedure. Foremost is the long-term removal of your unwanted body hair. Though laser hair removal is not considered a permanent solution, the permanent reduction in appearance of your hair is entirely possible. Often, your regrowth actually comes back a lighter color and softer texture, which is a much more appealing alternative. Laser hair removal is a safe procedure as long as it is performed correctly and carefully. Laser hair removal is most ideal for those who have a large area on the body with more hair on it than the average person, such as the back, chest, or legs. For these people, laser hair removal might be a preferable option to something even less permanent like waxing. Those people with fairer complexions along with darker body hair usually get the optimum results with this procedure. Of course, the idea of permanent laser hair removal might be too good to be true. There are several drawbacks to the procedure that you should be aware of before deciding to go through with it. There has been no durable evidence that suggests laser hair removal is completely safe and is completely effective in what it claims to do. And, because every body is different, it is difficult to establish a set standard of regrowth rates. What is known is that the procedure does not work as well on gray, red, or blonde hair, and it must be approached with caution by those people with darker skin tones or on people who tan themselves. There is also a risk of burns, abrasions, or skin discoloration as a result of the procedure. And because it can take several sessions to complete the desired effect, the procedure can be quite expensive. Some people do not react to the process, therefore the decision to receive laser hair removal is one that requires great consideration of the factors involved. There are many laser hair removal establishments in operation that make untrue and potentially dangerous claims, and they might not be fully qualified to perform the procedure at all. Many of these “experts” claim that their procedures are totally pain-free, which is absolutely not true. They also make claims that the hair removal is completely permanent, and they might go so far as to guarantee absolutely no hair regrowth. Permanent laser hair removal has not been proven thus far. There is no governmental regulation of who can purchase the laser hair removal machines or requirements for training or any kind of quality control standards, therefore take heed that there is a great risk for physical injury and loss of a substantial amount of your money. There are some who believe that making laser hair removal more widely available by opening the procedure to not just physicians. They feel this will make it more affordable. But, it is not worth the possible health and financial risks to you by doing business with someone who might not know what they are doing. They best thing to do is consult a reputable physician, and ask many questions before you make a commitment. Know that laser hair removal will probably not result in the permanent removal of your unwanted hair. Rather, it will probably help to diminish the hair, and ease any embarrassment you might feel.
